Accounting

Accounting is the process that summarizes economic information about a business entity for use by decision makers. Users of this information include investors, creditors, management and government agencies. Often this information is prepared using computer applications. The Accounting program at SLCC provides training in financial and managerial accounting as well as in taxation. Students are taught both manual and basic computerized accounting systems.

Architectural Technology

The Architectural Technology Department offers a two-year Associate of Science (AS) degree for students who plan to transfer to a four-year university and two year Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degrees. Students in the AS degree program may specialize in two areas, Architecture and Construction Management.We have two AS articulated programs in our department, one with the University of Utah and the other with Weber State University.

Automotive and Related Technologies

The four-semester Automotive Technician program is designed to train students in both domestic and import vehicle diagnosis and repairs. It prepares students to enter into the job market as technicians skilled in all facets of automotive repair.

Automotive Collision Repair and Refinishing

This is a two-year composite program of automotive refinishing and collision repair. Students enrolled in the program register for the same theory and lab classes, but the related education classes will be different from those offered in the auto refinishing and auto collision repair certificate programs.

Aviation Maintenance Technician

There is more to aviation than just flying. Aviation Maintenance Technicians (AMTs) send aircraft into the air and – more importantly – bring them back down safely! AMTs have the important responsibility of servicing, repairing and overhauling aircraft components and systems, including: airframes, engines, electrical systems, hydraulic systems and avionics equipment.

Unlimited opportunities are available for skilled hair stylists. People always want to look their best and that means your career prospects look very good. There's only one way to learn barbering and cosmetology, and that's by doing it. SLCC provides students with a true-to-life salon environment with plenty of hands-on experience.

Biomanufacturing

The Biomanufacturing Program provides specific and focused training for entry-to mid-level positions at companies that manufacture biotechnological products. Examples of such products are biofuels, dietary supplements, medical devices, pharmaceuticals and proteins or organic compounds purified from cells. The manufacturing processes for these products are typically very technical in nature.

Biotechnology Technician

The Biotechnology Technicians Program (BTP) gives students the skills required for technical positions in the growing fields of biotechnology research and manufacturing. The program is strengthened by partnerships with local biotechnology companies that provide students with the most current knowledge and cutting-edge techniques in the field.The program emphasizes hands-on experience with over 100 hours spent in the laboratory, beginning in the second semester of study.

Building Construction/Construction Management

For more than 40 years, the Building Construction/Construction Management program has been helping students stay ahead of the game. Taught by experienced professionals, courses generally have a student to teacher ratio of 12:1.

Business Management

The Business Management Department offers a Certificate of Completion and Associate of Applied Science degrees in Business Management, Business Management Production Operations and Supply Chain Management Emphasis, and Small Business Management. These areas are designed to lead to employment as managers, manager-trainees, production planners and schedulers, engineering assistants, inventory control technicians, entrepreneurs, and a variety of other positions.
