Fitness Technician

The Fitness Technician Program is designed to train students to meet the growing demand in the fitness profession for personal trainers and group exercise instructors. Students may choose from either the personal trainer or group exercise instructor track.

Geomatics (Surveying)

Geomatics (Surveying) is a timeless career. Its beginnings date back to early scientists and explorers who used crude tools and methods to map their surroundings. Driven by human's desire to own property and the need to describe its bounds and locations, surveying has become a career that is a critical component of modern science. Some of the first land surveyors in the United States delineated the borders of the states we call home today.

Marketing Management

Marketing is a major function of business with a widely diverse field of job opportunities including retailing, direct sales, advertising, physical distribution, logistics and purchasing. Information management, customer service and public relations are important aspects of the field. Marketing continues to increase in importance in the world of commerce and industry and many managers are selected from successful marketing personnel.

Medical Assistant

Medical assistants are trained primarily to work in doctors offices, clinics or health maintenance facilities. As members of an allied health care profession, their role is to assist with care and treatment of patients in both administrative and clinical procedures.  Medical Assistant Program graduates possess entry-level skills in all administrative and clinical practices. They also receive extensive training in advanced competencies of the multi-skilled practitioner. As a result, graduates are of immediate value to the physician/employer.

Medical Assistant

Medical Assistants are trained to work in doctor’s offices, specialty clinics, urgent care facilities, hospitals and multi-specialty health maintenance facilities. As a member of an allied health care profession, their role is to assist physicians/ providers with the care and treatment of patients in both administrative and clinical capacities. The role of a medical assistant is integral in creating a health-care facility that runs smoothly and provides quality health care for the patients.

Motorcycle/Outdoor Power Equipment Technology

Students will study engine operation theory, electrical, drive train, suspension systems, fuel injection, carburetors, turbo charging and service and maintenance procedures. The program challenges and prepares students to become specialists in the service, repair and tuning of small gasoline engines.

SLCC's Motorcycle/Outdoor Power Equipment Technology program is well-recognized academically and in the industry. Nationally, our students have placed 1st at several SkillsUSA competitions.

Non-Destructive Testing

The nondestructive testing program offers students the opportunity for a career in a progressive new field with many diverse job opportunities and excellent entry-level salaries.

Nursing

The Salt Lake Community College Nursing Program offers an Associate of Applied Science degree in Nursing, which enables graduates to apply for the NCLEX exam for registered nursing. Also offered is the Advanced Placement Program for practical nurses returning for an AAS degree.

Occupational Therapy is a health profession that provides services to children and adults of all ages whose lives have been disrupted by physical injury or illness, developmental problems, the aging process and/or psychosocial dysfunction. Paralegal Studies

A Paralegal Studies degree from Salt Lake Community College provides a broad-based education preparing students for employment in today’s workforce. The Paralegal Program is specifically designed for those considering employment as a paralegal or those who wish to update their professional development or for those already in the field. Many graduates also use the skills obtained in the Program to seek employment in non-traditional legal and business related fields.
