Streaming media requests are filled in one of three ways:

  1. A digital version of the film exists and can be either linked to or uploaded to Canvas.
  2. An educational use DVD version of the film exists and includes either permission to rip the DVD or the digital version of the film.
  3. A digital version either doesn’t exist or isn’t obtainable, so the intended use is evaluated and the DVD version is ripped for the course if the evaluation thresholds are met.

Ideally, requests are filled with either option 1 or 2. In cases where a request cannot be filled in those ways, a copyright exception argument can still be made. The information given in the ticket helps form that argument for option 3.
